Concealers - pt.2

Hello everyone!

Finally I'm writing the second part of my personal concealers review. I'm really really working on posting more, but I just can't find words to write or other. But luckily "more blogging" is on my list of New Year's resolutions list :D

So let's continue...

5.) Max Factor Mastertouch Under-eye concealer

It's a nice tube with the so-called brush, just the one that's usually with glosses. It's creamy and very easy to apply.
The colour is 306 fair and it's the best suitable for me, eventho it's still too yellow. Max Factor in general have concealers and foundations that are a bit too yellow for my tone.

Bare eye again...

...and "concealed".

Verdict: 6/10
It's a good concealer and it stays on most of the day, but I can't give it more than 6 because there just is not any colour that would work perfectly for me.

6.) Maybelline Affinitone concealer

It comes in a tube with a really plastic feel and with the gloss-like brush. It's very easy to apply with it's creamy finish. Evene the colour is working great for me (02 natural) and pinkish enough for me. It's working even more with the Maybelline foundation from the same edition (Affinitone).

Verdict: 9/10
It stays on quite a long time, but with my occasional "cold times" tears (when it's cold and one of my eyes just starts to "cry") can be smudgged very easily. Too easily.

7.) Nivea Stay on cover stick

It's a stick. And, honestly, I don't really know how to work well with theese. I got it free with the Matt Nivea foundation, otherwise I wouldn't buy it by myself.

Surprisingly the colour works for me (08 nude). I just apply it with the stickjust making some bold spots and then smudge it with the concealer brush.

Verdict: 8/10
I hate sticks and that's all that I don't really like about this product. Anyway it's a great deal with people who like this kind of products.

8.) Yves Saint Laurent Touche eclat/radiant touch

It comes in a gold like tube with a simple soft brush. You have ti pump it at the end to squeeze the colour out. I usually use 3 pumps or 2. This can be used as a concealer or just a highlighter.

I think that when rebuying this product I got the worng colour. This is 01, but I think that firstly I used a 02. The problem is that the number of the colour is written only on the package and not on the tube of the concealer. So girls be careful! This colour is a bit too light for me, so I usually use it as a highlighter.

Used as a concealer...

...and as a highlighter (brow bones, under eye, cheekbones, inner eye corners, top of the nose, centre of the forhead, around nose, under nose, under lower lip).

Verdict: 7/10
It works well as a highlighter, and the texture is great, but it's way too expensive (around 30€). Well, at least for a normal student this is quite a lot of money. The last one lastedf for about 6 months.

So I'm finally over with the concealers part, and I'll continue with primers :)

Have a nice day ladies and have fun! :D It's almost new year's! ;)

Concealers - pt.1

Hello :D

As I promised, here are the reviews of my first part of the mu storage - the concealers.

Firstly I must say that I'm addicted to concealers, because I'm having under-eye dark circles for, like, forever. And I always have to hide them, or I don't feel okay with myself. When I have a day with minimal amount of MU, it's always with a concealer, eventho I forget the mascara or other stuff. The concealer is my personal MUST.

Having a pinkish undertone most of the year it's very hard for me to find a good concealer, because almost all of them have some yellow pigments in them and then the colour is too noticable. But in my eternal search for the perfect make-up pieces, I think I've found some good stuff :D

1.) ArtDeco Concealer cream

This is how it looks like and it contains 4,5g of product. The colour is 1 and it's almost the fairiest of them all. You can get about 7 colours if Iremember right. I can't tell you the price because I don't remember anymore how much did it cost, but I think it was about 10€ or a bit less.
I first heard of this concealer a year ago when I was at a workshop and we had tomake a certain make-up. We had offered all ArtDeco products for usage and it happened that I forgot my concealer at home, so I tried this one.

I use it with a concealer brush, because it's creamy enough.

This is the colour on a white surface. And then I'll show you my bare eye (don't scream, eventho it's scary!) and with the concealer:

Okay, it's a bit yellowish, but when you add the foundation the yellow tone is gone.
Verdict: 7/10
All in all I like it, because it can really hide all kind of marks and it's usually used for hiding tatooes even. So when I'll finish it I'll surely buy it again.

2.) Bourjois Light-reflecting Concealer

It can be used directly without other brushes, but I use my brush every time. So it's your choice :)
The texture is creamy but not loosy. This is the colour 44 eclat beige clair and it works for me.

And now how it looks on my eyes...

I really love how it hidec my circles and the fact that it's lightly scented, but I don't think that all people would agree with me.

Verdict: 8/10
I like it very much, but the only problem is that I can't find it anywhere anymore. Like if it's not available anymore... :(

3.) Essence Forget it! 3 in 1 concealer

I think everybody knows this product. It has 3 different colours, each for a part of the face. I'll show you how I use it.

These are all the 3 colours. And here is my interpretation of theme on my face...

(sorry for the strange face, but I really don't know how to pose...) bare face

ok sorry... strange again.
This is with the Essence concealer. I use the pink colour for my under-eye circles, green for red parts and the beige for adding a bit of colour to my circles on after my first pink concealer, or my under-eye area is to white and abnormal.

Verdict: 7/10

It's a nice thing for aspiring make-up artists, because it's easy to use and it works well. But it can be messy and greasy after a long day of wearing it.

4.) Manhattan Wake up concealer

It comes in a nice tube with a small brush.
It's quite creamy and it contains light reflecting particles, which can enlight your under-eye area and make it fresh.

I got it in the 01 colour. But there are some more to choose from.

And now I'll show you the effect on my eye:

Verdict: 8/10
As you can see it's working great. I was using it all the time at first, but then I discovered other brands and this was just too transparent to work every time. But anyway it's a good concealer if your circles are not that visible.

Well, I hope you're pleased with this post and I'll continue my concealers review in some days, because I'll be in the capital for two days and I won't have time to post anything.
And don't be scared of my face :P

Have fun!

Sunday 31 October 2010

Here again...

Ok right... don't try to kill me. I was soooo absent that it isn't even funny anymore... and I'm again so sorry. But I'm working on a project right now that will involve a lot of posts from me from today :D

Some weeks ago I was thinking about what I wanted to write about and because I'm in a bad financial situation right now, I can't really do great reviews about new products, unless I would rob a store :P And atm I don't intend to do that. And I was cleaning my bathroom and just cleaning all the cosmetics and categorizing it in places by the type... and then it came to me! I could first review all of the cosmetics I posess! And you'll see from the pictures that there's a lot of crap to review :D But let's just skip to the pictures :)

This is actually my make up space with most of my stuff.

Up from left to right: blushers/bronzers/glitter gels, primers, concealers.
Second from up from left to right: eyepencils, liguid eyeliners, coloured mascaras, palettes with 4 or more colours.
Third up from left to right: creamy eyeshadows, yellow-brownishes, red-pinkishes, green-blues, white-darkishes, 3 or 2 colours mini palettes.
Down row from left to right: eyeshadows in pencils, black mascaras.

My foundations and powder foundations + my bigger palettes.

These are my glosses and lipsticks and an extra big palette.

These are the brushes I use and I really must find a better storage :/

So from what you have just seen it's obvious that I'm a huge make-up fan and that I practise it. But for now just for fun. I have still to study some material about make-up stuff. I will add another picture about my hair and skin products:

From left to right clockwise: hair products, face products, body creams and oils, some more body products, some more hair sprays, peroxide for my eyebrows (I'm lightening them-you'll see!), hair waxes.

I'll start with the concealers section and I'll continue with the order of my make-up storage :) Please, you must tell me if I'm uploading too big pictures, or I'm not reviewing well and stuff... and you can compliment even ;P I want to do a good job here!

So for now take care and just have fun with yourself! :D

exams and other nonsense ;)

Hy to all!

I'll stop to appologize for not being active because I don't want that all my posts would be just sorry sorry sorry stuf. So I'll just continue...

I've had a lot going on with uni, work and other things, and on the top of all I'm kinda lazy about doing pictures. But (!) my flat is finally in good conditions (tnx to my bf) - it's not messy anymore :D And I've sorted all my cosmetics. So now I can finally do some pics of these things. When I'll have some time because now I have about 5 or 6 exams. So the next post will have pictures ;)

WEll, have a great time :D
